Savarese BJJ wins Fuji Team Title

Savarese BJJ wins Fuji Team Title! Congrats to everyone on the Savarese BJJ competition team who tested themselves today. It was a mix of some of our best, some who haven’t competed in a very long time, and some testing themselves in their first tournament. We finished 2nd in the team standings but 1st Place in the Adult standings (we had no kids competing today) and I am proud of all of you not because of your great showing but more because you stepped up, faced a fear and weren’t afraid to fail like so many are. First I want to shout out our purplebelt standout Sean Yadimarco, who took 1st place in the Blackbelt division. (Props to the black belts for letting him in so he could test himself, much appreciated), winning his first match 9-0 and his 2nd by submission. Also props to Ariel Morel, who continues his journey to better health but winning his first BJJ tourn ever! Since this guy joined my academy , he has dropped over 80lbs and has gotten much healthier. 2 months ago, he decided to compete for the first time. It wasn’t his day. But in the “win or learn†mentality of Jiu-Jitsu, he learned. Well he just back in the horse today and won 2 matches, both by submission, to win his title at the Fuji tournament today. https://www.fujibjj.com/ So proud of you! Then the amazing Ivette Ponte, who took 1st place in her division, continuing to be better in every aspect of life and BJJ. She is a 100% completely different person than the person who walked in 3 years ago. Sooo proud of you. Maverick Garcia, who has a unbelievable tournament!
