Ryan Cortez dominates at NJBJJF tournament! Savarese Jiu-Jitsu Lyndhurst student Ryan Cortez dominated his way to the championship at the NJBJJF tournament sunday in NJ. Cortez finished all his matches by submission. One of those ended in just 14 seconds. This was his first tournament in 2 years. Cortez has been training at the Savarese Academy for just over 2 years. Professor Chris Savarese, the Academy owner and head instructor, says Cortez’s future is bright. “Ryan trains hard every day. As a result, he was rewarded for this hard work”. In addition to his BJJ, Ryan has been working hard on his wrestling and plans to wrestle in HS this year.
