Savarese Jiu Jitsu Lyndhurst No Gi Pan results
The Savarese Jiu Jitsu team’s No Gi Pan Am results were very impressive.
The competition team had only a very small team competing in the tournament but North Jersey’s premier school managed to come away fourth in the total teen standings. That is an impressive feat considering other teams had many more competitors. Our results speak for themselves and we are proud of them.
More with less
With only 5 competitors, the Savarese team came home with 5 medals. Lead by teens Leo Alves and Sean Yadimarco, the competition team was awesome on Saturday.
Kicking off the action at the City College Of New York, Alves took 1st place in his division and later took 3rd in the Absolute. Meanwhile, Yadimarco took home 2nd place in his division and later took home 2nd in the Absolute as well. The pair of 17 yr olds have been doing well on the local scene for a couple of years now and have really stepped up their jiu-jitsu this year on the World stage.
With only the 2 of them competing as teens, our team took 4th place, only 2 pts out of 3rd, in the team standings based on their accomplishments.
Also bringing home some hardware was brownbelt Anthony DelGuercio, who took 3rd place in his division. Del Guercio was competing for the first time this year and plans to be very active on the competition scene the rest of this year.
Also competing were brownbelt standout Brian Procel, who lost to Dante Leon, who captured his division and the Brownbelt Absolute class, putting on one of the best performances of the day in the process.
Mike Carrafiello also tested his skills in the purple belt masters class. Both guys will be competing again later this year in tournaments on the east coast.
