Savarese BJJ blackbelt ceremony

 

The Savarese BJJ blackbelt ceremony was held January 14th, 2016 at the Savarese Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Lyndhurst NJ. Professor Chris Savarese promoted longtime student Mike Hanly to blackbelt and Mohmamed Mohebbi to 1st degree blackbelt. More than 200 students showed up during the coarse of the night as there was live open mat training followed by a speech by Professor Savarese during an awesome ceremony in which students were promoted to blue, purple brown and black belt. Hanly then followed with a very moving speech in which he thanked his family, many of the teammates he started with, then thanked all the blackbelts individually and finished a moving tribute to Professor Savarese telling him how he changed his life and that he could never repay him. Hanly and Mohebbi are assistant instructors at the Academy and are among the best students so they were met with a large round of applause afterwards
