Lyndhurst Jiu Jitsu Academy promotes 6 students
Savarese Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a Lyndhurst Jiu Jitsu Academy, promoted 6 students last week. Led by owner and head instructor Professor Chris Savarese, the Savarese Academy is known within the industry as one of the top Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) schools in the tri-state area. Following a round of training last weekend, Savarese gathered the students on the mat to announce all the promotees to great applause from the rest of the students. The 6 that were promoted to new rank were:
The promotees
Mark Garcia: Mark Garcia on received the 4th stripe on his bluebelt. Known in the Academy as “Spuds Mackenzie” because of all the parties he throws, Mark has risen through the ranks very quickly with a combination of great attendance, great retention and hard work. Willingness to try new things and a focus of improving each week has really separated him from the pack. While he is one of the best bluebelts in the Academy, his future in BJJ is off the charts. I have no doubt that he will be a blackbelt someday. Futhermore, Mark will be competing in the NY Open in NYC this weekend.
Carlos Pena: All the instructors and teammates are very proud of this promotion…congrats to Carlos Pena on the first stripe on his whitebelt! Welcome to the world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. After watching his children train for a long time, Carlos decided that it was time to get in shape and start training himself. After a very tough beginning, Carlos is moving better, learning faster and losing weight. He is a completely different person than he was 2 months ago. So proud of what you accomplished so far my brother!! Let’s keep it going!!
Ivette Colon: Ivette is one of the many students here inspired by her children to start training. She is an extremely hard worker and her attendance is among the best in the advanced classes. She received the 3rd stripe on her whitebelt and is getting better every dayMost of all, we look forward to her future!
Training 4 Life
The other 3 promotions were students from our affiliate jiu-jitsu school in Pequannock NJ, Training4Life Martial Arts Academy
Tommy O’Connor:Â Tommy O’Connor received the 2nd stripe on his bluebelt. Due to a serious head injury, he has missed some time but is getting back into his rhythm.
Mike O’Connor: Mike received the 1st stripe on his bluebelt
Caitlyn Ghiradi: Finally, Caitlyn received the 1st stripe on her bluebelt.  Since you are young, I will put it in writing for you, Caitlyn, you are very, very talented. As a result, you will go very far in the art and sport if you want to. Hence, make sure you stay consistent.
