Bergen County Jiu Jitsu Competition team excels!!!
A Bergen County Jiu-Jitsu Competition team excelled at the New jersey Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation tournament this weeknd! The Savarese Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu team, located out of Lyndhurst, NJ, brought 5 of their newest competition team members down to the tournament to test themselves and and all of them won a medal in the prestigious tournament. Professor Chris Savarese, a 2nd degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blackbelt and owner and head instructor of the Academy, had this to say “Congrats to all the new whitebelts on the Savarese BJJ Competition team who competed in the NJBJJF tournament today!! We went down with 5 whitebelts, 4 of who had NEVER competed before and every single guy came home with a medal around their neck!! Congrats to Alec DelVecchio, Mason Sullivan, Jerome Jardiniano, Rob Strydio and Diego Rivera who finished 2nd in the Whitebelt Absolute (no weight limit) as well despite weighing 180lbs. Thanks to all the upperbelts who came out and supported their teammates and showed what being an upperbelt is all about. Strength in numbers!!! Very proud of everyone!!!” Savarese is one of the 1st Americans to receive a blackbelt under 5-time World Jiu-Jitsu Champion Royler Gracie and is widely considered one of the top BJJ instructors on the East Coast by those in the BJJ community.
