BJJ match of the day is an OLD SCHOOL match from the 1998 Oscar de JJ between Renato Barretto vs Mauricio “Tinguinha” Mariano. Barretto was the first lightweight World Champion and came out of retirement for the master World championship in 2004 which he won. he is one of the best grapplers I ever trained w. Ridiculous BJJ. He is one of the best blackbelts out of Gracie Humaita and was a constant in the camps of Royler and Rickson Gracie during their MMA camps. Tinquinha was a revolutionary of the open guard having created several techniques from that position, as demonstrated on his many DVDs about the position.
