Nino-Comprido

BJJ match of the day is a 2000 Mundial (World Championship) Absolute (no weight limit) match between one of my all-time favorites, Nino Schembri vs. Rodrigo “Comprido” Medeiros. Comprido was the returning Absolute Champion and was much bigger than Nino. I was there live for this match and the crowd went CRAZY when Nino jumped to Comprido’s back. I love watching this match because Nino shows no fear and constantly attacks the much bigger Comprido shows his poise and the reason he was a Pan Am and multiple time World Champion. Can’t hate on onthemat.com’s choice of Eric B and Rakim as the background music either
