Dear Students and Friends,
Our Academy enjoyed a tremendous 2010, including many tournament victories, belt promotions, and great seminars by Royler Gracie, Rafael Lovato and Jeff Glover. We were visited such rising stars as Justin Rader, Ryan Hall, and Bill Cooper. Additionally, a couple of us were able to attend Kenny Florian and Romaulo Barral seminars in NYC. We are lucky to have access to some of the top instruction in the USA, not only in our Academy but through our extended BJJ family across the country. Brian Long received his blackbelt and won a no-gi World Championship! 3 more brownbelts were earned, more purplebelts earned and we had a GREAT tournament team showings at a Grapplers Quest in April in and won the Team Trophy at the RGDA tournament after setting it as a goal! More importantly was the personal growth of alot of our students experienced on their personal journies through jiu-jitsu and in life in 2010. While everyones goals are different, improved technique, fitness, comraderie and mutual respect were common elements to everyone. I am excited about the growth of the Academy and the progress of our students. I look forward to expanding the schedule and class offerings to help each person achieve their personal goals while reaching our team goals. Although I yell sometimes in order to push you to your goals, please understand that I am very, very proud of our accomplishments as individuals, as a team and as an Academy. Like I said on promotion night, our curriculum has proven to be good and w/ the right attitude, I believe the sky is the limit for us as long as we stay focused. Bring on 2011!!!
