1/19/11 Touching story..please read and learn

Here is a great story I wanted to share w/ everyone about how  just giving a little of your time can sometimes make a big difference to others. I told this person i wouldn’t use his name because he is not looking for recognition, he did it out of the kindness of his heart…

“Last night my son John and I went to the movies. We were approached by a very timid homeless man. We spoke to him for about a awhile. He was legitimate, not a drug user or alcoholic. His wrist was swollen from a fall on ice. The only thing he asked was could we help him get something hot to drink because he was cold. We got him coffee and spoke to him for awhile. I was able to explain the social services that were available to him and he was unaware these things existed. In case you don’t know “Homelessness” is considered a medical condition as it is a threat to human life. I was finally able to convince him to go to a hospital not only for his wrist but to apply for social services. I hope Paul will be OK. I felt blessed he was sent our way. I am sure it was a great lesson on how to treat people for my son John; he was truly moved by the incident.”

I think this was a truly selfless and wonderful thing this person did, something you don’t see anymore in this day and age. Thank you for making my day and opening my eyes.
