After watching the replay of UFC 100 this weekend and originally being happy w/ the fact that MMA has really gone mainstream, I was disappointed that despite MMA’s incredible rise to success, there is something mising from todays MMA…..respect and humility.

Along w/ their fighting systems/techniques, BJJ and other Martial Arts have a long tradition of teaching respect and humility to their students. Many of todays fighters show anything but those characteristics before, during and after their fights.

The respect, honor and humility taught in BJJ academies across the country is a way of life, on and off the mat. I wish some of the MMA fighters of today would study the bushido and incorporate not only into the octagon or ring, but in their daily lives…
