After watching the main event at UFC 102 last night featuring 2 of my all time favorites fighters, Antonio Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira and Randy Couture, I hoped that all fighters would learn a lesson on how to act before, during and after a fight or match. Both were calm as surgeons before the fight, not wasting valuable energy by jumping up and down and such, both fought their hearts out from the opening horn until the final horn and both came back while hurt. They are true champions in every sense of the word and both were classy in their post-fight interviews. Minotauro was a classy winner giving props to Randy, recognizing him as a champion and thanking him for the fight. Randy was gracious in defeat as well. I hope all young fighters see this and learn that you don’t need to have that “Tapout Attitude”…arrogant and in ya face…to be successful. Act like you’ve been there before. This fight will go down as one of my all-time favorites for the heart and skill shown during the fight and the respect shown after it.
